February 21, 2011

This week was pretty awesome. With my new trio we taught a lot. A LOT. We have a new thing going on in our zone where if we show up to an appointment and the investigator isn´t there, we knock 3 doors. Its actually a lot of fun. This week we found 7 new investigators in less than 40 minutes by this method. One family we found told us that their Mom/Sister/Aunt fell into a vegetable like state 3 months ago. She is still in the hospital and has no chance of recovering without a complete miracle. They visit her everyday, but she doesn´t respond in any way. They were so glad to hear that Our Heavenly Father has a plan for each of His children.

Everyone is on vacations and should be getting back this week, so I didn´t teach any of the investigators that you guys have heard of this week. Instead, we spent most of our time in the other half of my giant sector teaching the investigators of the other 2 missionaries. I will have to get to know everyone in the sector by changes, which are coming up quick. They have some really great people they are teaching. One family had a fecha for their baptism, but the Mom is having a hard time quitting smoking. I hope to be the one to give her the animo she needs to overcome this problem. If so, it would be a really rewarding sight seeing them in the Baptismal waters. This week we had Stake Conference. It was a satelite broadcast from SLC. President Packer, Elder Christopherson, and Elaine Dalton all spoke. It was cool. I didn´t know that Christoperson speaks Spanish. He spoke in part about how there are 20,000 young men in Chile of the age to be leaving on missions. Right now, there are only 500 something actually doing that. He really came down hard and expressed the need to be preparing yourself to serve. Powerful, but lots of palos. Our ward is actually really good. We have 2 serving, 1 with his call, and 3 waiting for their calls. They are awesome. The last news for this week is that the familia Sandoval is getting booted from their house. They have lived with the boyfriend of their mother for years and years. He wants the house back because they are not together anymore. They have til the end of the month to find something. It's a big loss to the Ward if they move out of the boundaries, which is most likely what will happen. But another Ward will be blessed to have such a great family. Keep them in your prayers, they are really scrambling to find a home. Thanks to everyone for your support. Tenga una semana marvillosa.
